I’m Dr. Sally Eccleston, an HCPC Registered Psychologist, Somatic Therapist, Yoga Teacher, and Life Coach with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, schools, and organisations in promoting mental health, trauma recovery, and embodied wellbeing.

Through Wellness with Sally, I offer an integrative approach that blends evidence-based psychological practice with the wisdom of the body - using somatic therapies, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, coaching, and breathwork. My work is rooted in both Western psychology and Eastern philosophy, offering practical, person-centred solutions for emotional health, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.

I specialise in supporting:

  • Individuals seeking mental and physical health support

  • Women navigating hormonal health, life transitions, or recovery from disconnection

  • Children and young people experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties

  • Schools and educational settings in need of consultation, SEND support, therapeutic input, and staff wellbeing training

  • Organisations and businesses committed to fostering a culture of wellbeing, emotional intelligence, and resilience

I hold a Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology and have worked in both public and private sectors. I also bring additional expertise in somatic trauma therapy, women's health, movement-based healing, and coaching. My approach is inclusive, holistic, and deeply human - combining scientific insight with embodied experience.

Based in the Peak District, I work both in-person and online, offering 1:1 sessions, team and staff training, wellbeing events, and therapeutic programs for schools and groups. Whether through a reflective supervision session, a trauma-informed yoga workshop, or somatic therapy, my aim is always the same: to support people in reconnecting with their innate wisdom and thriving in life, work, and relationship.

My Journey

I created Wellness with Sally in 2017, following years of study, healing, and self-discovery. I’ve always been passionate about empowering others to live in better health - emotionally, physically, and spiritually. But that passion was born from my own struggles.

Growing up in London and later moving to the North, I spent many years feeling deeply disconnected from myself - disembodied, overwhelmed, and often unsure of my path. Despite a loving family and great opportunities, I wrestled with low mood, poor self-esteem, and unhealthy coping habits. On the outside, everything looked fine. On the inside, I felt lost.

Academia gave me a structure and a way forward. I studied Psychology at A-Level, then pursued a degree, a Master's, and eventually a Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology. But despite all this, I still felt something was missing - a sense of inner peace and self-acceptance I saw in others but couldn’t find in myself.

In my early 20s, everything began to shift when I discovered yoga. What started as physical movement soon became a profound journey into embodiment, presence, and healing. It felt like a coming home. I realised that psychology and yoga - Western science and Eastern wisdom - didn’t need to be separate worlds. Together, they could create something powerful and transformative.

Bringing It All Together

In 2016, the same year I completed my doctorate, I trained as a yoga teacher in Thailand with Centered Yoga. Since then, I’ve completed extensive additional training in yoga, trauma-informed somatics, women’s health, and therapeutic movement (scroll down for the full list of credentials). I’m also trained to work with children and families, including those with SEND, and am a certified life coach.

Now based on the edge of the beautiful Peak District, I work with individuals, groups, and schools - offering trauma-informed, holistic support that blends psychology, embodiment, and intuitive guidance.

How My Experience Can Help You

Because I’ve been through it myself - from depression and disconnection to emotional healing and personal empowerment - I know how deeply impactful this work can be. I’ve used yoga, meditation, coaching, and trauma-informed therapy to:

  • Recover from poor body image and low self-esteem

  • Heal emotional wounds

  • Restore hormonal balance after coming off the contraceptive pill

  • Build a business and a life that truly aligns with who I am

And now, I support others to do the same.

My Approach

I offer a bespoke, body-centred approach that supports:

  • Trauma recovery

  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Women’s health and hormonal balance

  • Life transitions and self-discovery

My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centred - drawing on both psychological science and embodied practices to support whole-person wellbeing. I work holistically, recognising the deep connection between mind, body, and nervous system. Whether in therapy, coaching, yoga, or consultation, I blend evidence-based psychology with somatic awareness, movement, breathwork, and mindful reflection. I create safe, inclusive spaces where individuals and groups can explore what’s holding them back, reconnect with their inner resources, and move towards greater clarity, regulation, and resilience. My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a belief in each person’s capacity to heal, grow, and thrive.

Who I Work With

  • Adults seeking support for mental, emotional, or physical health challenges, including anxiety, stress, trauma, or burnout

  • Women navigating health issues, hormonal imbalances, or significant life transitions

  • Young people struggling with emotional regulation, behaviour, self-esteem, or trauma

  • Individuals who want to feel more empowered, embodied, and aligned in their lives

  • Schools looking for trauma-informed psychological consultation, therapeutic support for pupils, staff wellbeing programs, or SEND-focused interventions

  • Organisations and businesses committed to improving workplace wellbeing through workshops, training, or holistic employee support
